June 23rd Garden Updates

These beets are the best we've ever had for mid June... can't wait!

Our earliest batch of summer squash ever!

Caleb's doing a great job getting the keeping the pigs happy, especially in 94 degree weather!

Here they come a runnin... really enjoying themselves.

Not everything is rosey this spring... Eggplant Flea Beetles!

What a toll our eggplants took this spring.  But now that we're aware of the pests, we've begun manually attacking them, one at a time.  We're also planning to try some old fashion remedies.  Will keep you posted on what we tried and what did/didn't work.  Our infestation is pretty high, we picked about 30 bugs off of our 4 plants.

Am really glad that we opted to mulch this year.  It's really paying off in saving time weeding... and we haven't needed to water the garden yet.
