Mechanicsburg Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market update
The Mechanicsburg Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market opened its 2010 season June 28 and is off to a great start! We have almost 20 vendors already, and always have room for more! Currently, the market is vending locally-grown and -produced early-summer veggies; jams, jellies, cookies, and baked goods; fresh apples and plums; soaps, body products, t-shirts and purses; alpaca wool yarn (and finished products); framed art; slate stone art; eggs; herbs; and maple sugar syrup and confections. We have also had two Market nights featuring live music by guitarists Daniel Dye and by Zane Pergram. More produce and fruits will be added as they come into season; it’s been a challenging growing year for our farmers.
If you grow or craft or create something and you live in Champaign County or its contiguous counties, please consider vending at our Tuesday evening market! Applications are still available at Heritage Co-Op, Hemisphere Coffee, and at Steve Dransfield’s law office (Saxbe building). Questions? Please contact the market manager, Rikki Thompson, at 614-975-7324, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. (If you are a musician and are interested in playing at the Market, please call or email Rikki).
Market hours are each Tuesday from 4:30-7 PM on the Heritage Co-Op patio, Mechanicsburg, through September 28, 2010. Additionally, some of the Market vendors will be participating in the Mechanicsburg Summer Celebration at Goshen Park on July 10.
Thank you for supporting your local farmers, friends, and neighbors, and for supporting local commerce in Mechanicsburg. We’ll see you at the Celebration, and look forward to your stopping by the Market next Tuesday!
