At some moments in life do you ever have the urge to smile- for really no apparent reason? At the Rogers Farmers Market yesterday that urge was ever present. The market began with some difficulty- vendors being confused by where their stalls were and the wind was actually not cooperating but it all turned around after the first five minutes.
I was walking up and down the market, as I usually do, making sure the vendors are happy and everything is running smoothly and than wave after wave of visitors entered the market. We were only into ten minutes and we already were at 125 people!
Finally, some of my efforts were starting to pay off. Earlier in the season I had biked neighborhoods dropping of fliers in mailboxes, called businesses to donate or volunteer at the market, dressed up like Mario for kids' day, and walked in the city's Rockin Rogers Day parade behind a decorated tractor wearing overalls all to promote the market.
We still have a long way to go before I can feel fully satisfied but my worry and stress about how the market would do have subsided, somewhat. I am already excited for next weeks market!
