Well it's getting to be that time of year again...rushing around trying to find gifts for all the special someone's in our lives. It's slow time here on the farm though. The rams are in with the ewes and they've all been marked by the rams. I'll be leaving them in until Christmas however just in case one of the ewes didn't take. I leave the rams in for two cycles just in case. The ram I've used on the majority of my ewes is my new Border Leicester ram, Jamie, and I can't wait to see the fleeces of the lambs.

I've also rented a beautiful spinning wheel from Harrisville Designs and I'm learning to spin. They have two different kinds for rent, an Ashford "Saxony" wheel and an upright..I want to try them both to see which I like better before I actually purchase one.

I've had great fun playing with the yarn, trying different thickness' and different plies. I even got out the knitting needles (I haven't knit for YEARS!) and did up a scarf for my Mom.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
