Heritage Home~Place

Getting ready for our first annual Fall Festival on October 1!  We are excited about having a Horse Drawn Hayride and Live Music for this event!  There will be lots of baked goods and dried herbs and spices for sale.  Also, baking mixes!  We look forward to seeing you there!

Babe, our Jersey Milk Cow, is doing great!  She is my first experience with milking a cow.  I actually am afraid of cows.    But, she and I get along beautifully!  We bought her in November.  She calved in January!  The previous owner sold her due to the 'out of sinc' calving schedule.  It was hard to be milking during the coldest part of winter...but, we managed and learned alot very quickly about milking a cow!  We bought a milk machine and sell fresh milk daily.  We make Kefir, Mozzarella, Buttermilk, and Ice Cream with Babe's rich, creamy milk! 

The weather has been so great this Spring!  We are busy with many projects here on our little 'farmette'.  It always amazes me how much 'junk' can accumulate over Winter.   The out-buildings are in need of a good 'cleaning out'....again.

We are working in our gardens now, getting the plots ready for seed and plants.  I'm lovin' the dirt! 

The local Farmers Markets are starting up again!  We do not sell at a Market, but love going to them! 

Our monthly 'Lifestyle of Living ~ Health & Wellness' Meeting is coming up again.  We love connecting with the 'growers & producers' in our area.  We always learn so much from them.  Our speaker is Duane Burnett from Burnett's Heritage Farms.  His topic is:  ''Organic, Grass-Fed, Free-Range". 

Lots going on here!  We are loving it!
