Black English Walnuts!!

Hi everyone!

I guess by now many of you are getting colder weather and snow, but, here in N.C we are just starting to get a little cold at night and in the early morning hours.

I have had a nice ,busy fall so far! Many of my herbs have just had their finale harvesting and so are in various stages of drying. I had so many peppers all summer and fall and had to dehydrate them, but, yesterday I put away my dehydrators for the winter. I still have a few big planters with herbs growing outside that I made a “dome” over so that they can continue all winter. I have gotten out my grow lights once again for those few plants that will do well inside.

So, I've been pretty busy this past month. I also harvested BLACK ENGLISH WALNUTS. If you've ever picked them, hulled them, dried them and finally cracked them, you know what a lot of work they are! I have a freezer full of these nuts and every day I am cracking them! For those of you who want to order them for the holidays, order now. These are the nuts themselves, not in the shell.  Every day I will have more for sale! I will also include a couple of recipes that I particularly enjoyed and would love to share with y'all.

Enjoy !

These are my favorite. I once lived on a farm and we'd gather the nuts and spread then on the gravel drive until all the green hulls were gone. Cracking them was not so easy. You have done a ton of work.

How can I get a hold of some these?
