Culinary Herbs instead of Medication Part one

As we see and feel the weather getting cooler in most parts of our country, here in the US, many of us greet the colder temperatures in different ways. Especially is this so for those that are farmers, of most anything, be it crops or animals. We like to get as much out of our farming efforts as possible.

For those of you that are not farmers, but are consumers, you may be faced with long term unemployment and basic worries that all of us face such as food, shelter, clothing and medicine for our numerous ills, whether we have employment and money coming in or not. While I'm not going into how to find employment or even how to be more thrifty about spending what money you do have coming in, or about the money wasted on drinking beer and liquor and tobacco products, I would like to address the medication problem.

Many folks take medication for conditions such as high blood pressure, cholesterol , adult onset diabetes, strokes and heart attacks. By simply changing the way we eat and what we eat we can eliminate many of these conditions. It seems that many don't realize that they can't continue to eat like an 8 year old when they are 40 something and beyond. That, from what I've absurd really seems to be the culprit. And, this is not news, we hear it every day.

The best place to eating right starts at home. I don't think anyone can argue that a good home cooked meal is far superior than a fast foods meal. But, take this an extra step and do your meal from scratch. Buy the meat and prepare it yourself. Buy the fresh veggies, clean them and cut them up yourself .Then take it to another level by adding some culinary herbs to your meal and not only will you wonder why you didn't do this before, because you will discover a whole new flavor to your food, but, you'll be adding medicinal benefits to your health without much work at all! Go a little farther than adding just one herb to your preparation and add a good combination that works together for conditions such as the heart, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and your whole body will really thrive! Take the time to cook your own meals, your body deserves it! And like I always told my own kids when they were growing up “Take care of your body and it will take care of you!”

Go back into my 2 blogs on SPICES; My blog on WHAT HERBS GO WITH FISH; and my blog on WHAT HERBS GO WITH GAME; as well as my 2 blogs on DANGEROUS HERBS VS MEDICATION. They will help you through the maze of what herbs to use together. You can also look through my culinary herbs that I have here on LH and my teas for certain conditions that I sell here on LH .

My next blog will go into culinary herb combinations for the conditions that I've mentioned above.
