What about peppermint?

Posted by k on February 07, 2013 at 07:37 PM EST #

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: It is LIKELY SAFE to take peppermint in amounts normally found in food during pregnancy and breast-feeding. It’s best not to take these larger amounts if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Peppermint should be avoided if you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant due to possible adverse allergic reactions. In severe cases, peppermint can cause bronchial constriction, involuntary closing of the throat and contact dermatitis.

Peppermint tea is safe to drink in moderate amounts during the early stages of pregnancy. However, during the later stages, particularly the third trimester, peppermint tea can pose health problems such as increased heartburn.

Keep in mind, that both (below) are talking about large doses. I don’t think that taking a cup or two a day is going to be considered a large dose.
