2nd Slow Food Meeting (Myrtle Beach) @ Luigi's Trattoria
Our second Slow Food Conway/ Myrtle Beach meeting came to fruition with a turnout of 14 members/prospective members. It was held at Luigi's Italian Trattoria on 61st Ave N. in Myrtle Beach. Dinner was scrumptious and each of the members had a sampling off the menu.
discussed officers and asked folks to consider posts of President, VP,
Secretary and Treasurer. We will hopefully decide on officers at our
next meeting in June, this time in Conway. We are looking for a
mid-week meeting to be held at Crady's Restaurant (TBP/pending).
Dr. Saleeby discussed the benefits of Vitamin K in food, specifically Vitamin K1 and the differences of K1 & K2. Additionally, he hit on the health benefits of this important fat soluble vitamin pertaining to bone health, cancer and coronary disease prevention, Alzheimer's risk reduction and immune function enhancement.
