Apple Tasting at the Market
 
Oysters, bison, grass-fed beef, mushrooms, cut flowers, Greek baked goods, artisan chocolate, and peanuts are all available for purchase at the Williamsburg Farmers Market.  Blush will perform from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Roslyn Taylor will conduct an apple tasting  at the Chefs Tent at 9:30 and 10:30 am. and the  Master Gardeners will be present to answer gardening questions.  The first Holiday market is November 19.

This weekend at the Williamsburg Farmers Market is for the children. Make sure to bring your comera as there will be a scavenger hunt and events for children.  WJCC SHIP (School Health Initiative Program) will be cooking up some fun at the Chefs Tent and demonstrating Zumba. Macaroni Kid Williamsburg will also attend with more fun activities.  Fall produce, pork, cut flowers, and peanuts are all available for purchase. Arden Clark will play fiddle music. The City of Williamsburg will have a recycling booth and the Master Naturalists will provide an exhibit.  Full season open through October 29.

 
 

Experience Williamsburg's Art Month at the Williamsburg Farmers Market 9/17/11

This Century Art Gallery will have artists painting Plein Air in the Market as part of Williamsburg’s Art Month. Berret’s Seafood Restaurant will be at the Chefs Tent at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., The Master Gardeners will attend, and Ron Fetner will perform 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.. Apples, pasta, cut flowers, cheese, bread, honey, artisan chocolate, lamb, pork and potted plants are among the many offerings at the Williamsburg Farmers Market.

July is peak season for corn, tomatoes, blackberries and cut flowers at the Williamsburg Farmers Market. Jim Gay of Colonial Williamsburg Historic Foodways will be at Chefs Tent and Two Girls and a Hammer will have a "Discover You Can" canning demonstration using tomatoes.  The Virginia Shakespeare Festival performers will attend and Me & JO will play from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The market opens for the full season with over 30 vendors of Virginia producer-only products. Shop in the heart of Williamsburg in Merchants Square for potted plants, fish, mushrooms, artisan cheeses, meats, pasta, hydroponic vegetables, cut flowers, soaps and more. Enjoy  the market, live music and exhibits along with lots of shops and restaurants.

 
 

Folk Festival Winner Ron Fetner to Play Live at the Williamsburg Farmers Market

8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Fresh, local pumpkins, cut flowers, apples, bison, peanuts, fish, oysters, baked goods and beef are perfect for fall cooking and decorating. Ron Fetner, contemporary folk singer, songwriter and winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival, will perform from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Master Gardeners will man their Q & A tent. Only two regular season markets remain.  Holiday markets will be on November 20, 27 and December 11.

 
 

September 25, 2010 Market Calendar

Fresh local pumpkins, cut and dried flowers, apples, bison and an abundance of fall harvest products will be available at the Williamsburg Farmers Market this Saturday.  Dudley’s Farmhouse Grille will be cooking at the Chefs Tent at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Amazing Buttercup Band will play from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Composting will be the theme of the Master Gardeners’ exhibit.

It’s time for apples, apple cider, pumpkins and other fall produce.  Also find locally grown or produced cut flowers, seafood, soaps, honey, meats and more. Berret's Seafood Restaurant's Chef David McClure will be cooking at the Chefs Tent at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Tim Seaman will play from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Stop by the Master Naturalists’ exhibit.  The theme will be migration.

Learn to cook Apple Waldorf Salad, Butternut Squash Mashed Potatoes and Pumpkin Bread with Cream Cheese Icing with Jean Monaco of  MARTIN’S at the Chef Tent.  Cooking and sampling begin at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Karen Trump will play from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and The Master Gardeners will be exhibiting drought-tolerant plants.

Fruit, seafood, cut flowers, cheese, honey, soaps and herbs are among the many items available from over 30 vendors.  William & Mary Executive Chef Denis Callinan will demonstrate at the Chefs Tent.  Narissa Bond will play from 9:00 to 11:00.  The Master Gardeners will be at their tent during the morning exhibiting therapeutic gardening techniques.

Local painters Betty Babb and Apryl Altman will share the Artist Tent at the Williamsburg Farmers Market on Tuesday, August 3.  Farmers and bakers will sell peanuts, prepared foods, fresh produce, berries and other fruit.
