8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Support the farmers market and its farmers, watermen and bakers during Farmers Market Week. The Williamsburg Farmers Market is the place to shop for apples, peaches, watermelons, pork, seafood, herbs, and lots of vegetables.  Ball Canning Demonstration will be presented by Two Girls & a Hammer at Chefs Tent and Thomas DeRose will perform 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Saturday, July 23

8:00 a.m. – 12 noon

Peaches, apples, blackberries, goat meat, herb plants and a knife sharpener are among the many products and services available at the Williamsburg Farmers MarketA Thyme to Plant Herb Farm will be at the Chef Tent, Two Girls and a Hammer will host a Ball Canning demonstration from 9-11:00 a.m., and  Kindred Spirits, a vocal duo, will sing.

This Saturday at the Williamsburg Farmers Market The Trellis Restaurant will be at the Chef Tent, the Master Gardeners will attend and Louis Vangieri will play guitar. Shop for fresh, local peaches, berries, corn, tomatoes, pasture-raised pork and goat meats and much more.

 
 

Contest Update and Market Calendar for August 21

Thanks to all of you who voted, we have moved up into 5th place in the nation. However, we are now trailing by a whopping 548 votes behind first place!! Voting ends in less than 3 weeks, so we need your vote today if we’re going to keep our title as “America’s Favorite Farmers Market”. Vote now.

Apples, peaches, seafood, cut flowers, cheese, honey, soaps and herb plants are among the many items available from over 30 vendors. Rosalyn Taylor of Hampton Roads Food Safety Co. will be at the Chef’s Tent at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Susan Greenbaum will play from 9 – 11 a.m.

Thanks to all of you who attended our Tuesday markets this summer.  Today is the final Tuesday market of the season.

Great news!  We are up to 237 votes in the American Farmland Trust "America's Favorite Farmers Markets" contest.  No, that  is not enough for us to win, but we are getting there.  If you have not had time to place your vote for us, you can do so here.  We need your help if we're going to retain our title for another year.

Apples, peaches and berries are highlights of the market at this time of the season along with an abundance of fresh vegetables.  Two Girls And A Hammer will demonstrate making peach sauce at the Chefs Tent.  Stephen Christoff will perform his musical stylings ranging from Brazilian jazz to blues from 9:00 to 11:00 and This Century Gallery will have artists on site.

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Artist John Watters will show and sell his versatile pottery. Buy fresh cut flowers, berries, peaches and produce as well as freshly baked breads, spanakopita, peanuts and homemade fruit butters and marmalades.

 
 

Farmer's Market Calendar July 17 & 20, 2010 & Contest Update

Saturday, July 17

8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The Fat Canary will be at the Chefs Tent at 9:30 and 10:30.  There will be live music performed by Blush from 9:00 – 11:00.  The Master Gardeners will be at their tent to answer gardening questions.  This week's topic is Incredible Edibles - Vegetables in Containers.  Apples, peaches, berries and melons will be in abundance along with many other seasonal products.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Elaine Abbott, painter, and Hank Mook, papier-mâché artist, will share the artists’ tent. Local vendors will offer fresh fruit, Angus beef, pork, peanuts, baked goods, produce, cut flowers and more.

Williamsburg Lodge and Inn Featured at Chef Tent and Prentice Creek to Play Live

Saturday, July 10

8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The Williamsburg Lodge and Inn will cook at the Chefs Tent at 9:30 and 10:30.  Musicians Prentice Creek will perform live from 9:00 to 11:00.  Over 30 vendors will provide in-season produce and products including the first peaches of the season.  See our website for up-to-date vendor and product availability.
