Bean, Bountiful Heirloom seeds for sale order today

Bean, Bountiful Heirloom seeds

At Home Farm Herbery in Munfordville, KY we only plant Heirloom Organic seeds and we save these seeds each year.  Often we have some extra and when that happens we are pleased to offer them to other health conscious gardeners.

We  love this Bean, Bountiful (Phaseolus vulgaris) In 1898 Abel Steele of Ferguson, Ontario won a $25.00 prize for naming this new variety from Peter Henderson & Company, previously known as New Green Bush Bean No. 1. We like the way it produces heavy crops of excellent quality, brittle, stringless 6-7 inch pods.  Productive plants grow up to 18" tall. Bush habit, snap, 45-50 days to maturity.

Package of approximately 50 seeds $5.95 free shipping & a free gift with every order.

We thank you in advance for your purchase as all our net proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Haricot Vert Bean Organic Seeds for sale

At Home Farm Herbery we love these Organic Maxibel Haricot Vert Beans!

Haricots Vert is French for green beans and is a French variety of green beans. This is the most popular French filet bean and unsurpassed as a gourmet market specialty.

Fancied for their slimmer, more delicate profile, these highly coveted, stringless filet beans can often prove more costly so this is one good reason to plant some plus they are a good money maker if you do the farmers market gig!

It is known for its long, slender, medium green pods with a delicate tenderness. This bean is a heavy producer of 6-8” beans on good sized plants. Maxibel will keep you loaded with fresh beans for a good amount of time. Pick frequently for optimal tenderness and yields.

How to Make Herbal Infused Honey

How to Make Herbal Infused Honey

You will need Honey (preferably raw honey from a local bee keeper),

Fresh or dried herbs such as Lavender, Rose Petals, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Basil, Ginger, Sage, Peppermint, Cinnamon, Vanilla Beans, Star Anise, or Thyme just to name a few and a Glass jar.

Directions:

Fill a clean glass jar halfway with fresh herbs or a quarter ways with dried herbs

Top with honey, stir and cap with a tight fitting lid

Place in a sunny windowsill and turn the jar over once per day

Add more honey if the herbs swell and rise above the honey

Allow to infuse for 1 week or longer and strain once the desired flavor has been achieved

Enjoy drizzled over desserts, fresh fruit, ice cream, oatmeal, on toast with or without butter, on biscuits, in salad dressings, marinades, sauces, cordials, syrups, or as a sweetener for tea or lemonade.

Our sample just shows lavender, but you can use others including our suggestions below.  Get Creative!

We got some plants into the ground today.

I planted Glynis’ string bean mix and I set out some Martino’s Roma tomato plants, Emerald Giant peppers plants, Marketmore 76 cucumbers plants, Napoleon Sweet Pepper plants and some Japanese Long Cucumber plants.  After I finished the inside work I was able to get back out at 4 pm and work for another couple of hours and planted a lot of flowers and some new herb beds that you can see on the slide show link.  http://www.kizoa.com/slideshow/d2481432k4613598o1/4212-arlenes-gardens-at-home-farm
