1 whole acorn-type squash (also try Carnival or Delicata)
2 T butter
2 T maple syrup
1 T brown sugar
Dash of salt
- Preheat oven to 375°F
- Cut squash in half lengthwise. Scoop out seeds and strings
- Rub butter over the inside of the squash, place remaining butter in the seed well. Top with syrup, sugar and salt, divided evenly.
- Place in baking pan. Add enough water to the pan until it is between ¼ and ½ in deep
- Bake until soft, about 1 hour but overall cooking time will depend on the size of the squash.
