Speckled Hen Farm

What's happening...

Hi everyone!  As most of my customers know, we don't have any heritage turkeys this year.  Sorry.  We'll be back in the swing of things next year. I still have a couple of broad breasted birds that'll be available for pick up in Worthington the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  If you're interested, email me at brooke@speckledhenfarm.com

2008 has been a year of big changes for me.  I fled the state of Ohio with my son in June and spent 6 weeks at a camp in Southwestern Maine.  It was a life changing experience for both of us.  A little time and distance was what I needed, it allowed me to evaluate my life and especially my marriage.  Upon my return to Ohio, I separated from my husband of 5 years, moved from the farm and moved my birds to new locations. I am continuing to raise birds in the same manner as always and have enlisted the help of some friends to enable me to continue doing what I love.

I will be doing the indoor winter farmers' market in Worthington this year and I'm looking forward to sharing stories and snacks with all of my customer/friends.  We'll be introducing some new sausage recipes and maybe a couple of sauces for poultry.  Can't wait to see everyone!
