The LocalHarvest Blog

Pick a little, talk a little, pick a little, talk a little, cheep cheep cheep...

Try, try again

Yesterday Guillermo and I were discussing the sorry state of this blog. We have both had the guilts about it all winter. One lousy entry in almost three months? That's not a blog, it's a wind-worn flier stapled to a telephone pole announcing a concert that's long since forgotten.

For whatever reason, we haven't been bitten by the bug. Yet. But we've committed to giving it another go to see if we can turn ourselves into bloggers. Because we have things to say. Really we do. If only we could dig ourselves out of our To Do list long enough to form sentences.

Since one of charms of blogging is getting to reach many people, I would like to thank all the farmers, market managers, and other LH members who sent photos and recipes in response to my request. WOW. Even now, a month after putting out the call, I have 349 unread recipes and 303 unviewed photos waiting in my inbox. It's been an overwhelming response! I have been surprised and organizationally unprepared for the response. But grateful, very grateful. We can't wait to use some of these photos and recipes in our newsletter and on the site itself. For example: the beautiful radishes pictured above are courtesy of Fir Forest Harvest, in Spring, TX.

To those who haven't received a personal response from me, THANK YOU for sharing these treasures with us. We love love love looking at the photos and reading the recipes. They will smarten up our site, liven up our readers' dinner tables, and help us know you better. Thank you.

With that, it's back to the inbox.

More soon. I hope.

You're doing great! Don't worry about it. There are a lot of us chatty types out there.

I know y'all have something to say because you're gardeners. And I ain't met a gardener yet who don't have something to talk about. I promise to visit and comment regularly if y'all do your part. I also understand about time constraints; I have a blog and Web site to maintain, and weekly and monthly articles to write.
