Mohair from Phoenix Farm is hand sheared twice per year from holistic pasture-raised animals -- it is 100% natural! Our herd of colored angora goats range in color from white to taupe to silver, with some black and red animals as well.
This listing is for 1 (one) ounce of the beautiful natural fleece from one of our white angora goats. It has been washed several times in hot water with all natural soap and air dried. Locks average approximately 4 inches (unstretched) and are undyed. I then send the locks through the picker TWICE to separate them into a light, fluffy, loose roving that is ready to dye, spin, or card. I like to spin directly from the loose roving, but you can also run it through the carder to blend it with other materials or to make batts. Also makes great basket filler for newborn photography!!
This fleece has been picked through by hand to try to remove foreign matter and debris picked up in the field. It is stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment. It is ready for you to card, spin, felt or for any of your crafting needs!!
