Your order is protected with the LocalHarvest money back guarantee.
An old Southern heirloom that grows and produces well in heat and humidity. Pick pods young and use like snap beans. Or wait until peas fill the pods but are not drying yet and eat like shell beans. Or let peas dry in pods and use like dry beans. A versatile and easy to grow crop, Southern peas enrich the soil and can be grazed or the plants fed to livestock.
The plants grow quickly in hot weather and make a terrific green manure/weed smother crop in summer. And then you get to eat the peas! We rely on Southern Peas to produce in our summers that are too hot for green beans.
Blue Goose is much more productive for us than California Black Eye peas. The peas are a little smaller, but there are up to 20 in a pod! This variety is also known as Grey Crowder, and has been in use since before 1860.
Give the plants room. We grow them in rows 4-6 feet apart, 4 seeds per foot. We harvest continuously from mid July until frost. Germinated at 88% .

We produce all of our own seed, unlike most seed sellers. We never purchase bulk seeds and repackage them. You can be sure that you are getting top quality, healthy, and vigorous seeds from us, and that they were produced by us on our small farm in healthy soil.
We are licensed by the State of Missouri Department of Agriculture to sell plants (license #1931) and seed (license #149045) produced by us. We exceed the Federal minimum germination standards and post our germination test results with each variety
