Blue Moon Farm in Hunterdon County, New Jersey is historic and beautiful. It is part of the original Hawk Farm purchased in 1819 for $3,420. Slowly, we are trying to re-establish its nobility after years of neglect.
Our vision and commitment is to sustainable agriculture and humanely raised animal products. Our heritage breed chickens and Bourbon Red Turkeys are raised on pasture. Farm fresh pasture raised brown eggs are available for a reasonable price and fresh produce is available seasonally. We make a luxurious hand crafted natural shea butter soap "for bathing and shaving", as well as "fat soap" made from fresh rendered lard right here on the farm. Our gourmet hardneck garlic is 'the best you ever roasted!'

Our heritage breed chickens pasture beautifully and much prefer the fodder fetched outdoors to the nutritionally correct organic feed available inside. The Bourbon Red Heritage turkeys are beautiful and a sight to see! After six weeks, like teenagers, they are rarely home except to snack, hydrate, and rest occasionally. We will, however, make sure that they are home the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Call early for orders.
