78 days. OP. Indet. We love Black tomatoes for their rich, sweet, deep flavor, and we love oxhearts for their meetiness and lack of seeds. Put them both together and you get this recent introduction from Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms. Large, oxheart shaped fruits are produced abundantly. The color is purple/deep red/ brownish, with green shoulders. The flavor is out of this world - rich, sweet, and with that deep, almost smokey flavor that "black" tomatoes are known for. Does not produce well in super hot areas, so you are out of luck if you live in Texas.
Our plants are sustainably raised in our own potting mix. We use only organic fertilizers and sprays if needed. We have been growing and selling plants since 1997.
Our tomato plants are shipped in individual 3" deep pots. They are usually 6 to 10 inches tall and are ready to be planted out in your garden.
We package our plants with extreme care so they arrive undamaged at your doorstep. Each plant is tucked into its own padded sleeve. The soil in each pot is covered so it will not spill out. A plant tag identifying the variety is included with each plant.
We will start accepting orders for 2015 around January 10, and start shipping plants in late March.
Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. You are welcome to change the date to any other shipping week. Just respond to the e-mail and tell us when you want your plants.
We are licensed by the State of Missouri Department of Agriculture to sell plants, license #1931.
