The Black Button Sage plant is one of those miracles of nature which when pollinated the bees produce a honey that will not granulate. Branches Black Button Sage honey is gathered in the lower foothills of the California coastal mountain ranges, and it is amazingly smooth in texture. It has a slightly herbaceous quality that enhances vanilla ice cream, freshly cut strawberries and scones right from the oven.
Bees produce honey from the nectar of blooming plants, but the nectar produced by one flower will be different than that of another flower. Katz and Company's mission is to seek out distinctive California flora that yield mono-floral honeys with the qualities in aroma, taste, texture and color reflective of their particular species of flower. We currently collect four mono-floral varieties found in the rich and diverse terrain of California: Raspberry Flower, Citrus Blossom, Black Button Sage, Wild Blackberry Flower, and we also collect a Spring Range Wildflower Honey from the lower Sierra foothills.
All of our Branches honeys are gathered directly from the hives and bottled un-pasteurized, thus maintaining the multitude of health benefits of honey that are often lost in overly processed commercial honey, such as overheating to eliminate crystallization and make it easier to package.
All Branches Honeys are certified Kosher.
