Burr Oak Gardens, LLC

Burr Oak Gardens is a family owned and operated CSA style vegetable farm in Rio, WI. Founded in 2010 by Tyler and Kate Rowe, both graduates of UW-Madison's Horticulture Department, Burr Oak Gardens seeks to increase locally grown vegetable consumption in Madison and the Fox Valley. Some of our land is certified organic by MOSA and the rest of the land is currently in the three year transitional stage to become certified. We offer four different share sizes including: Full Weekly (20 weeks), Half Weekly (20 weeks), Full Every Other Week (10 weeks), or Half Every Other Week (10 weeks).

We are members of FRESH Food Connection and FairShare CSA Coalition!! If you have GHC, Physicians Plus, Unity or Dean Health Plan contact us about getting a rebate on your insurance! Join us for the 2014 season!

Great farm, great farmers, and a great deal---I love the option to include flowers and the 50% off you-pick strawberry weekend for CSA members. I'm signing up for a second year!

It's nice how close to Madison the farm is, so it's easy to go visit.

This Week on the Farm

2013-04-18

So a quick update on what we accomplished last weekend. With help from Tyler?s brother and some friends we were able to disassemble the entire building that had collapsed near the west barn. We discovered that the east wall foundation is a really beautiful field stone wall and we are hoping to have time to tuck point it to save it from crumbling away.... [more]
