Bush Garden Alpacas! started in 1998 with three alpacas and some dreams...Dutch and Maryann left Alaska where all six children were born, to go to Oregon and "get back to the farm life."

Now, with 50 Alpacas and a flock of ultra-fine Merino sheep, the dream is a reality. Son Jake takes on the showring with both alpacas and the sheep and manages the Merino flock. Dutch grows the hay, transports animals, maintains the ranch and, of course, just keeps on fencing! Maryann is now spinning the best combination in the world for soft, luxurious yarn = Alpaca + Ultrafine Merino wool. Ranch tours are popular with our Country corner location, where people can get an education on herd health, spinning, needle felting, wet felting and the Uniqueness of the American Alpaca. (more...)
