Busy Bee Farm

Busy Bee Farm has been in business since 1981. We are a local u-pick it in Pittsboro for blueberries, blackberries. We also have a honey operation selling local, pure honey. We also grow tomatoes, red potatoes, bell peppers and banana peppers. Last year I decided to give demonstration on the working of the bee hive. In this you will be able to see the workings of what goes on in the colony. This is done in a screened cage so there is no worry about getting stung. If you want to have a group for this you must book ahead of time so I will be able to schedule the time and date. Please call the number listed. You may get my answering machine so please leave me a mesage and number to call. Please speak clearly and not so fast since I am hard of hearing.

Three thornless varities of blackberries (Apache, Arapaho, Navaho), five varities of blueberries (Tiff Blue, Garden Blue, Powder Blue climax and premier) that are mixed, which makes for a better overall flavor). Our rows are all mulched, no weeds, no grass, and no ticks--this makes for pleasant and easy pickin'! We are wheelchair accessable also.

Children welcome (must be weighed before pickin'). Just kidding.

So c'mon out and have a good time! You can have a picnic under our very large poplar tree if you choose.
