C-JAYS is now on our 3rd year of market gardening. We try to grow as many popular vegetables as possible. Here are just a small list of items we grow. Tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini and yellow crook neck, cucumbers, red potatoes, onions, garlic, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, sugar snap peas, green beans, raddish, and beets. I have had many years of growing experience. Got started on my first place in 1969 in Murray, Utah. Had small market gardens in Riverton, Utah, Magna, Utah and Murray, Utah. Bought this place here in Moore, Id. in april of 2005. It has been very challenging going from a zone 7 in utah to growing in a zone 4 here in Moore. It can be done. I had great tomatoes this last summer, in fact I was able to sell everything that I grew. I do not beleive in chemical farming/gardening. I use no herbicides, pesticides or commercial fertilizers, just good composting methods, hand weeding, and natural control of pests. We have quality produce at wholesale prices. Last summer we sold our quality home grown tomatoes for only .70 cents per lb. We will continually try to get bigger and grow more items when possible. The farm is a 2 person farm, me and the wife, and our 4 tiny barking Mini Pins. They are excellent watch dogs. We will also be trying our hand at growing several acres of hybrid poplars and willows, I am really into trying to grow trees for a biomass planting, will be experimenting this summer. Come see us this summer, we try to start selling snap peas by the end of May. The area in which we live is very rural 150 population here in Moore, great soil, clean air and very quiet execpt the 4 kids. Thanks for listening have a safe winter and see you in the spring.
