CAC Beardsley Community Farm

CAC Beardsley Farm is located on the former Beardsley Junior High School grounds. In 1996, work began to convert the abandoned school grounds to a community garden. The city of Knoxville provided funds to build a community greenhouse and the Community Action Committee (CAC) received a grant from the USDA to complete the conversion. In fall 1998, work began on the vacant lot. Beardsley Farm has been cultivated since that date with the support of CAC, AmeriCorps, and volunteers.

Our mission is to grow and promote healthy food for city neighborhoods through gardening, nutritional and environmental education and service. Please email or call us if you would like to visit. Internships are also available. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM until 4 PM.
