The flowers of Calendula Officinalis have been used for hundreds of years for their medicinal properties. The flowers originated in the Mediterranean, and were eventually brought to this county by the Europeans because it was such an important healing plant.
I grow the flowers, infuse them in olive oil, in the sun for several weeks, then use this golden botanical oil to make my creams and salves. The bright yellow and orange flowers sitting in golden oil, is a beautiful sight.
Local beeswax, and the highest quality essential oils are also used, and because there are no chemicals or preservatives, the products do have a shelf life of approximately one year. Please do not leave in direct sun.
The Calendula Lemon Balm has a hint of lavender and lemon, and is used by both sexes to soothe damaged skin; minor burns, cuts, scrapes, chapped and cracked skin.
The 2oz balm makes a great gift in that it is packaged in cobalt blue container, held in a gold organza bag. A card is attached that describes the medicinal properties of the balm, and the ingredients.
Goldpetals grows and sells calendula based skin and aromatherapy products. Botanical oils, salves, creams and lavender sprays are are specialties.
