Calendula Salve
The modern use of Calendula is noted by some to be a great help for the healing external sores
Cuts, bruises, burns
And rashes
The ancient Romans gave this plant it's name Calendula. They observed that the flowers were in bloom on the first day or calends, of every month, and so named them. The Romans grew the flowers because they were so pretty as well as their power to treat Scorpion bites.
Calendula was used to treat headaches, toothaches, red eyes, and fevers.
The Calendula came to America and was used during the War Between the States to help stop bleeding and to promote the healing of wounds.
