Cayugas hail from the area around Lake Cayuga, NY, and are the only domestic duck originating from North America. They are placid mid-sized ducks, and have proved themselves excellent layers even in comparison with our Khaki Campbells. They lay large gray eggs.
Cayugas are classified as "threatened" on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy list. They would be an excellent addition to your backyard flock.
