CEDAR SPRINGS

Our Philosophy: Animals and animal products are to be received as gifts from the Creator in accordance with His laws of nature. As a result of this philosophy of the gift, our small, family-run farm strives to raise animals as naturally as possible.

We are breeders of rare Swiss Oberhasli goats. They are a traditional breed raised with traditional methods. The wild ancestors of our Oberhasli goats arrived in the United States from Switzerland within the last one-hundred years. Our goats are purebreds, registered, and are from national champion bloodlines. They give a fine, sweet tasting milk, producing about one gallon of milk per day. Since their temperament is friendly and gentle, they make excellent pets for children. Our bucks, does, kids, and chickens are raised according to organic and biodynamic standards although we are not certified. It would be our pleasure to teach our customers how to raise livestock as wild as possible and how to make goat yogurt.

Their complete diet includes the following: They are pastured on fresh growing grass, browse, and receive our custom made certified organic feed. The certified organic feed ingredients: Flax Seed Meal, Alfalfa Pellets, Field Peas, Oats, Barley, Thorvine Kelp Meal from Iceland, Redmond Trace Mineral Salt from the ancient river beds in Utah. Their hay is raised organically but the hay is not certified organic. Their supplements include herbal wormers, certified organic coconut oil, Himalayan Sea Salt, Redmond Trace Mineral Salt, Certified Organic Thorvine Kelp from Iceland, and our own garden produce. Goat kids nurse from their mothers. Our source of feed is Cold Springs Farm, a family-operated and certified organic farm in NY. Their website is: www.coldspringsfarm.net

We DO NOT FEED any of our animals organic SOY, CORN, MOLASSES, and SYNTHETIC VITAMINS AND MINERALS.
