Commonly referred to as chasteberry, Vitex, or Monk's Pepper, vitex agnus-castus is the scientific name for this plant . It is native to the Mediterranean and Central Asia where it has been used by herbalists including Hippocrates. Ancient uses for chasteberry included birth control as well as a suppression of libido in males, especially in monks (where we get the "Monk's Pepper" name).

Our Chaste Trees are grown naturally, without chemical pesticides or herbicides. Berries are also available fresh, and the leaves (which are occasionally used medicinally) are also available upon request.

Our Dried Chaste Berries are packaged in a resealable plastic bag. 1 oz is equal to about 1/2 cup dry volume.

Shipping is via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Buy additional quantities of this or our other dried herbs and pay one low combined shipping fee.

WE ARE GREEN! Our herbs are naturally grown from division or cuttings from our gardens. No chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers are ever used.

We sell live herbs as plants or rootstock with developed, healthy root systems. Plants have tops cut back to 2"-3" of topgrowth prior to shipping to avoid damage in transit.
