Also known as crape ginger, this is an ornamental variety of ginger with large white flowers blooming all summer long.
Your order is protected with the LocalHarvest money back guarantee.
A cone-like structure of reddish bracts forms at the top of each cane. The 3" diameter flowers emerge a few at a time from each bract as the cone elongates throughout the summer. Mature plants grow to about 8 feet tall.
This is one of the most cold-hardy of the spiral gingers and is recommended for USDA Zones 7-12. They can be grown in large containers in colder climates.
Mature plants will grow in sun or shade.
The cuttings you receive will be keikis (aerial plantlets) cut from the main stem. Plant immediately in good soil. These are easy to start in 4" pots. Keep moist and shaded until well rooted.
