Cherokee Purple is an old heirloom from TN. It is said that the Cherokee Indians cultivated this variety for many years. And when you taste this variety, you will understand why they grew this variety year after year. 12-16oz. fruits are a dark red/rose/wine color that appears deep redish black when fully ripe. Inside flesh is deep red with darker streaks throughout. The flavor of this variety is world renowned. It is very rich, yet sweet at the same time. I really do enjoy the flavor of this variety. This tomato rivals Brandywine for best flavor! It has won awards at fairs and tomato taste tests for many years. Plants are very sturdy and produce bountifully. They do best in partial shade and cooler temperatures (not over 90-95 degrees) but can grow in warmer temperatures and full sun. They just won't produce as many fruits in those conditions.
80 days from transplant to harvest.
Extra seeds will be added in case of a miscount! Detailed planting instructions included.
