Chestnut Cliff Farm

We are an organic-practice, sustainable focused, local food producer. The main work of the farm at the time is organic veggie farming for local farmers markets and CSAs. Our target market is continually developing, as more and more people become conscious of the benefits of consuming local, naturally grown produce. We are eager to implement new practices of growing and vegetable production.

Expansion: We are looking forward to the 2012 growing season already, planning an expanded garden to serve new markets and be better prepared to supply local individuals and restaurants.

Internships: In the 2012 season we already have three interns committed to work with Chestnut Cliff, and we are hoping to find two more.

Products and activities: The farm raises vegetables, grass fed cattle and chickens, woodland edibles and products, honey, and hay/forage.

We are actively involved in conservation practices, and connected to state and private nature organizations.

The farm consists of upland gardens, a native sedge meadow, Pecatonica floodplain wetlands, and is bordered in part by the Pecatonica River.
