Chickweed oil is a gentle and cooling oil used to soothe dry, irritated skin, allowing the benefits of chickweed to be spread over large areas of the body. Traditionally used by herbalists as a remedy for eczema, psoriasis, rashes and other dry, damaged or itchy skin conditions where an anti-inflammatory effect is indicated.
Its moist, mucilaginous and sweet nourishing properties cool and bring moisture to hot or dry conditions.
A healing salve can be made by heating 1 part beeswax to 3 parts chickweed oil. Chickweed oil can also be blended with other oils to create wonderful green-garden salves or massage oils.
Please store your oils in a cool dry place or in the refrigerator and use within one year. If stored in the fridge, the oil will solidify. Bring to room temperature before using.
