Chocolate Mint - A Favorite! Very strong mint used for teas. Has a smell similar to a peppermint patty. Great dried and added to black tea or used by itself, Chocolate Mint also makes a nice addition to chocolate desserts or a surprise addition to breakfast breads. Easy to grow, spreads rapidly. You may want to grow this one in a container!
Chocolate Mint is now ready to ship! Plant in the spring after last frost or in the fall 2 to 3 weeks before first frost & have beautiful well-established, rapidly growing plants come up in the spring! Keep moist until well established (you will be able to see new top growth and may notice that the plant has begun to lay over and put down roots wherever it touches the ground) and provide about a half day of sunshine. When first frost approaches MULCH, MULCH, MULCH! to protect from the winter weather. Chocolate Mint dies back in the winter, but you will see new shoots come up early the next spring!
Our Chocolate Mint grows well in an area that receives morning sun and is shaded after 2PM in the summer. It is virtually care-free and survives mild dry spells, but you will want to water it if you experience an extended period of dry weather.
WE ARE GREEN! Our herbs are naturally grown from division or cuttings from our gardens. No chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers are ever used.
We sell live herbs as plants or rootstock with developed, healthy root systems. Plants have tops cut back to 2"-3" of topgrowth prior to shipping to avoid damage in transit.
