Few garden delights can rival fresh Chocolate Mint leaves! A variety of the spearmint family, these plants have a dramatic purple stem with dark green leaves. You can use it like any mint plant in drinks (a great twist on the mint julep theme!), salads, desserts, sauces or as a garnish. If you are a serious foodie, try using it to make chocolate mint ice cream or sorbet.
The mints are hardy perennials. Plant April through early fall to get a perennial patch established. Mint likes full sun to partial shade and needs ample water at first. Rich, loamy soil is helpful but not essential, as mint can thrive in a wide range of soil types.
NOTE: We will ship in the Spring as early as we have plants available, to warmer locations, then May through early Fall to cooler regions. You can start mint patches in the summer, but be aware that you will need to water copiously!
