Your order is protected with the LocalHarvest money back guarantee.
Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) is a biennial herbaceous plant, native to the Mediterranean.
Has been used for centuries as a medicinal herb.
The plant has large fuzzy leaves, on thick stems. It grows to about 2 foot tall, with foot long leaves originating from the plant's center. It sends up a flower stalk approximately 1 foot tall, with flowers very similar to common garden sage.
Pollinators find the flowers very attractive; hummingbirds will also visit clary sage.
Clary sage is used in aromatherapy for relief of anxiety and fear. A tea made from the leaves is used to help relieve women's problems, and is said to have an estrogen-stimulating action, and has been used as a valuable remedy for menopause related conditions, especially hot flashes. (These claims have not been substantiated by the FDA and are not intended as medical advice.)
Direct sow clary sage in a well drained area of your garden. It can tolerate full sun, and partial shade conditions. Plant after danger of frost has passed for your area. Once established, Clary Sage requires no special care.
