This is a recreated 18th century living history farm. Costumed staff and volunteers work the land as it was done in the year 1771, and invite visitors to participate in their farming activities. The crops that are grown are heirloom varieties, and the animals are heritage breeds, all appropriate to the time period. The farm is open to the public Wednesday - Sunday, 10am-4:30pm, April through mid-December.
The Claude Moore Colonial Farm sells seeds, live plants, produce, and many educational toys and other items at the GateHouse Shop, open Wednesday - Sunday, 10am-5pm, April through December.
The Farm welcomes volunteers, and offers seasonal internships.
Special events throughout the year highlight different aspects of 18th century life. Three Market Fairs (the third full weekend of May, July, and October) provide a fun family atmosphere where visitors can purchase food and drink, enjoy entertainment and games, and shop at the many merchant's stalls.
