60 days. Open Polinated. Developed in 1939, this okra does not irritate your skin as much when harvesting. It produces plenty of tender pods that can be picked until they are 3 to 4 inches long before they get tough. A popular variety for good reason, as it is very reliable.
Okra performs best with plenty of heat. It produces constantly for us in our hottest, muggiest weather as long as it gets plenty of water. We plant 3' apart, fertilize and water well, and end up with huge plants that get 6 feet high by 4 feet wide, with multiple producing stems. Best harvested every 2 days. If allowed to mature fruits it will stop producing. We harvest okra from late July until hard frost.
Okra does not need to be breaded and fried. We have found that stir frying plain slices in a little oil keeps the slime at bay and gives the okra a delicous flavor and texture.
Germinated at 94% on 12/3/12.

We are licensed by the State of Missouri Department of Agriculture to sell plants (license #1931) and seed (license #149045) produced by us. We exceed the Federal minimum germination standards and post our germination test results with each variety.
