Collected Seed Farm

Our farm began on a walk from a memory to a dream. We are situated on a beautiful 110-acre south-facing slope 30 miles south of Albany in the hamlet of Preston Hollow. We are a part of a vibrant community of landscape designers, artisans and entrepreneurs whose purpose is to care for and rehabilitate the Earth while building a sustainable economic model around small-scale agriculture and craft.

Currently, we have one house, a few barns and an old production apple orchard with mint, oregano and raspberries growing wild underneath. Our 2-acre garden is our backyard, from which we harvest vegetables for our CSA. The property is bordered by a creek and there is access to 2 additional natural water sources (a spring and a well). We are keeping 55 acres of our property forested to protect the watershed and wildlife.

We follow a system of design called Permaculture. Many call this approach holistic, because its focus is on providing for the entire system. Instead of feeding just the plants with a measured dosage of chemicals (BOOOO!), we understand the complexity of nature and use organic matter to feed the organisms who will then feed the soil that will then feed the plants that will eventually feed you (HOORAY!). The degree to which our no-till method cooperates with nature will extenuate the educational experience of our members. The consumers of our products are actively involved in their fruition. Supporting small farms through CSA not only strengthens our local economy, but also our bond with this planet.

Our harvest season begins in June and will last well into the fall. Please visit for more info!

*We also produce and sell non-GMO, heirloom, open-pollinated vegetable seeds. To browse our catalog please go to

Our farm is rooted in value. We offer affordable access to fresh, sustainably-grown food in the northern Catskill region. Through our CSA, we provide local households with the opportunity to actively participate in the their food's journey from farm to fork. Through the sale of our heirloom vegetable seeds, we are spreading that wealth to the greater grower community. Please click around on our website to find out how we can help you secure a happier, healthier future.
