In our opinion these are one of the prettiest and most striking perennial border plants there is - and certainly one of the easiest to grow!

Columbine (also known as Granny's bonnet) is known for its distinctive, bell-shaped, spurred flowers.

Herbaceous in habit, these die back to virtually nothing over the winter. Early spring, delicate lacey foliage breaks from the ground to form pretty gray-green clumps. which bloom from mid-spring to early summer. How to Plant Columbine Seeds

Sow seeds in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 65-70 F., germination is in 21-28 days. Can direct sow into prepared seedbeds in groups of 3 to 4 seeds spaced 18 inches apart. Thin to the strongest plant.

Comments: Full sun in mild climates, part to light shade where it is warm. Tolerates moderate water, better performance when soil kept moist. Cut back old stems for repeat bloom. Deer and rabbit resistant. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
