Contented Acres Produce is dedicated to providing quality produce to local customers while improving and maintaining a healthy soil and farm ecosystem. Through biodiversity we encourage a nature-based ecology that maintains plant health with minimal outside inputs and maximum nutritional value in our fresh fruits and veggies. We save seed from many of our open-pollinated and heirloom varieties and start our own transplants in our hoophouse. All of our produce is sold direct-from-the-farm through our CSA program and our field stand. Visit us 9 a.m. until noon on Sunday and Thursday mornings for fresh items picked that day!
Summer crops ran a bit late this year, but we're now having cherry and yellow pear tomatoes. Green Zebras, Dester, Paul Robeson, Black Krim and more will be starting in August. Most of these heirloom tomatoes will continue into fall. We have Ogen melons, Sugar Baby watermelons, Genovese basil, Thai long beans, yellow crookneck and patty pan squash. Japanese and Armenian cucumbers and more. This year we're trialing Peruvian Golden Berries with production expected to begin in September.
