Cool Beans CSA opened in 2010 with 30 members, and despite two years of terrible weather, we're still growing! W'll be expanding to 75 shares for the 2012 season.

It's a partnership between two experienced farmers, with one farm on each side of the Susquehanna. Judi has a large farm in Duncannon, where her family has grown meat, grains and vegetables for generations, and she raises the bulk crops there. Katie has a small farm outside of Dauphin, and raises the plants we need in her greenhouse in addition to the specialty crops in her fields.

Our weekly shares are mostly vegetables with some fruits and some value added products. Members can purchase additional items, such as the freshly ground whole wheat grown on the farm in Duncannon, or arrange for specialty cheeses to be delivered with your order from local cheesemakers we meet at our weekly market.

Members who also join the Yeehaw Farm Meat CSA (information available when you contact us about Cool Beans) receive discounts on memberships.

Pickups are available at the farms (Duncannon and Dauphin) and we have a few local drop-off points as well (Harrisburg, New Cumberland, and Camp Hill.)

Our priority has always been to raise good food for our family - and we consider our Cool Beans to be part of the family, too! Please visit our website for more information - look for the "about Cool Beans CSA" link at the top of the page. If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us!

Love the approach - and the sense of humor - that Katie and her friends across the river have. (Not afraid to put some edible weeds in the bag! :) We really enjoyed the variety of add-ons dried beans, flour, cheese, etc.... [more]
