These corn husk dolls are made from the dried husks of the heirloom cornfield corn Bloody Butcher and Green Oxacana. These dolls are made in the Native-American tradition of "Faceless Maiden" from the legend. This legend says, "a beautiful maiden went to the riverbank every day to view her reflection and because she was so vain the Great Spirit made her faceless".
The Native-Americans taught the pioneers how to make these dolls. Each doll is different but, each is approx. 6 in. The dolls will be holding a broom or flowers. You can view the photo to get an idea of how they will look.
We also have seed from the Bloody Butcher, Green Oxacana, Sugar Cane and Broom Corn available.
