The Riceville Locker has been here for quite some time, but was destroyed by fire Oct. 31, 2008. We have built a state of the art red meat processing and harvesting facility, and opened our doors one year to the day. The 6600 sq ft plant is built with "green" in mind. We used geo-thermal energy for heating and general cooling. We have floor heat everywhere it is not cooled or frozen. Even the livestock holding pens have floor heat for comfort and less chance for slipping. We've captured heat from our freezer compressors to pre-heat our hot water along with other things to improve efficiency and productivity. We harvest right here in the same building that we process which allows us no cross contamination. We also can hold beef for longer hang time if you request it.
