Cowberry Crossing Farm

Cowberry Crossing Farm is a certified organic and biodynamic small family farm located in Claverack, New York . The Harrisons are committed to local, humane, sustainable farming. They have a large and varied vegetable garden. Animals found on the farm include chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, sheep, pigs, cows, horses, and bees. All are fed exclusively on organic feed and spend their days roaming freely on the farm.

Our products include vegetables, herbs, sunflowers, eggs, chicken, lamb, beef, pork, and raw wool fleeces. These can be obtained by joining our CSA, buying from the farm, or from our farm stands, both are located at our farmers markets: Pleasantville or Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.

Farm Stays are available in our charming cottage located in the privacy of the farm's woodlands. Guests can just relax or jump in and help with farm work. They can pick the vegetables for their meals directly from the garden - oh so fresh! Eggs and meats are also available.

Biodynamic agriculture was the first ecological farming system to arise in response to commercial fertilizers and specialized agriculture. It is the highest standard of organic and sustainable farming yielding maximum soil health. Optimum soil health fosters a healthier environment and more nutritious plants which of course lead to healthier animals and human beings. Emphasis is placed on the balance and relationship between farm animals and plants grown, between the earthly world and celestial influences, between wildlife habitat and farmland, and between physical and spiritual life forces. The farmer acts as caretaker and facilitator for all these relationships and strives to know and develop his farm at increasingly deeper levels.
