Calendula Officinalis is a magical flower, that originated in the Mediterranean, and soon became a favorite of the Europeans, who brought it to this country in their soups and stews. It’s antiviral properties were well known, and the bright yellow flowers were also used as dyes and to color their butter.
Calendula, or Pot Marigold, is an easy growing flower in the Northeast. I grow it on my land outside of Cooperstown New York, and even watch it pop up through the snow when summers done.
The cream is made with the Calendula infused extra virgin olive oil as its base. The olive oil is full of antioxidants that benefit the skin.
Shea and Mango butters are added for their hydrating and moisturizing qualities, and they are both quickly absorbed into the skin and leave it feeling soft . You might get some shea beads in your 4oz jar of cream, and these will quickly melt on contact with your skin, and leave a tingly feeling behind.
Local beeswax and the finest essential oils will leave your skin with a golden glow, and the light scent of lavender and honey.
