Crooked Cedar Farm is a family owned and operated non-certified organic vegetable and flower farm in Blythewood, South Carolina. Selvin and Edwina Harrell are dedicated to providing the very best quality fruits, vegetables, and flowers to their customers. Crooked Cedar Farm is a labor of love for the two retired state employees and is a SC Certified Grown farm. The farm participates in local farmers markets during the year and also has direct sales from the farm.
Due to the warm winters enjoyed in South Carolina, the farm is in continuous operation all year long. In the late fall, winter and early spring the signature crops are the salad mix, spinach, broccoli, kale, savory greens and collards. The salad mix is very much in demand by customers, both at the local farmers markets and in direct sales from the farm. It consists of over 20 different varieties of lettuce, spinach, arugula, endive, etc. It stays fresh for up to three weeks.
During the late spring and summer, the farm offers vegetables such as Blue Lake green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, corn, butterbeans, etc. Many of the vegetables are heirloom varieties. Blueberries and strawberries are also offered.
Crooked Cedar Farm also grows over 400 different colors of daylilies, perennials, and cut summer flowers.
The Harrell's welcome visitors to the farm for tours and shopping and are open everyday on a limited basis or by appointment.
