The Family Share is exactly twice the size of our Individual Share and is appropriate for 3-4 people who enjoy organic vegetables like salad mixes, radishes, arugula, spinach, chard, kale, kohlrabi, beets, broccoli, onions, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers and garlic.
The share is 4-7 varieties of freshly harvested vegetables given to you straight out of coolers with an averaged weekly retail value of $30.
Everything is organic. No genetically-modified seed.
The base price is $660 for 20 weeks from June through October. A convenience fee of $15 has been added here.
Our story:
In 2007, Julia and Todd McDonald moved from their small Chicago apartment to a similarly narrow single-wide trailer on a 20-acre plot of land in the middle of corn country. They want to help meet the need for new farmers and local vegetables.
Pick up vegetables between designated hours at one of 3 Chicago locations or on the farm itself :
LINCOLN SQUARE - Tuesday mornings 7:00 - noon at the Farmers Market, W. Leland/N. Lincoln intersection.
NORTH CENTER - Tuesday afternoon/evenings 3:00 - 7:00 at Blue Sky Bakery, 3720 N. Lincoln.
WICKER PARK/BUCKTOWN - Thursday evenings 4:00 - 8:00 at the Hideout Inn, 1354 W. Wabansia.
ON THE FARM - Thursday evenings 3:00 - 9:00, just 10 minutes west of Manteno, IL. 2047 W. 10000N Rd.
