Fresh tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, onions, greens, pumpkins, and winter squash are are staples but we grow a variety of other fruits and vegetables to keep your family healthy all spring, summer and fall.
We pride ourselves with our variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs with recipies on how to prepare or preserve your items.
Some of the offerings we intend to grow this year include: String and wax beans, lima beans, beets, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, collards, cucumbers, eggplant, leeks, cantaloupe, water melon, pumpkins, ornamentals (gourds & indian corn), onions, parsnips, peppers (hot & bell), radishes, spinach, Summer squashes (zucchini, yellow, pattypan), Winter squashes (acorn, buttercup, butternut, spaghetti, hubbard, delicata). We generally offer orchard fruits such as apples and pears as well as blueberries and blackberries. This is not an exhaustive list but just to give you an idea.
We believe in sustainable agriculture and use only non-GMO seed. We use organic and heirloom seed when possible and grow all our produce organically.
Blooming Valley Farms is a family owned operation located in northwest Pennsylvania approximately 40 miles south of lake Erie. We sell our produce and many other products from our home located one mile northeast of Blooming Valley, PA on route 77. Additional items that we offer at the farm include bedding plants and flowers. To be fair to our subscribers we are limiting the number of shares that we are offering this year so order now for the 2014 season.
Each share will include enough fruits and vegetables for a family of 2-3 vegetable eating adults with up to 10 different items in a week. We plan have one of the largest variety of tomatoes & peppers in Crawford County and offer a wide variety of fruits & vegetable in the 2014 season. Pick up shares at our farm or local drop off point.
